Well I’m still very excited about my laminator, bought a few weeks back. Initially, it was all about being sensible, you know, like business cards and then brooches (pins) or lameos as I call them, but I’ve pushed the machine a bit further in the last few days picking up dead leaves and giving them a go. The heating plastic gave off more of a “rustic”odour than normal but there was no smoke or hissing which you come to expect mixing moist things with electricity.I figure if the worst happens I’ll just pull the cord from the socket. Needless to say I bought a cheap one, so if you have any ideas about what I can feed it next, let me know. The two shades of bourgainvillia leaves have a transparency that works really well, it will be interesting to see if they are sealed tight enough to keep their colour

I have been shopping… and I bought cute stuff to wear and art of course.
Here are some of the very cool collage works of Maureen Shields a New York artist with an impressive exhibiting record and a wicked sense of humour- vintage wallpaper, glitzy stickers and holographic collages on plexiglass are some of her creations. You can find her on Etsy.
The collage above now belongs to me- I had to have it because it’s a funny quirky composition but also for the words included ” stop fucking around”.
I couldn’t agree more!

Back in April one of my plates, given as a present to the woman pictured, was included in the Sunday paper magazine Home photo feature….

Many thanks to happysq for her brilliant design idea for me to paint her these shakers.
I have no idea what she’s on about of course, but the comments and views these babies are generating would suggest everyone wants some.
What’s that in the background? Well, I’m forever telling the family to clean up their stuff but honestly it goes in one nostril and up the other (sniff sniff).

I would like to thank the kind people at United Laboratories Australia for making me my own personalized dish-washing liquid. I love the fact it is a kitschy garish colour and you have to keep it out of reach of children, just like my plates really.
My hubby Nigel really loves the promise of “triple action” but I don’t think he should get his hopes up too high, as I feel a headache coming on….must be the fumes!

This Seattle based collective are new to Etsy but have a great website and blog. I want that plusharoid - I remember using a polaroid in art school but instead of flapping them (doesn’t do anything) I would stick them under my armpit for developing (doesn’t help either)-doh!

Welcome to my blog!
To begin with I have started with some new plates I will be listing on my Etsy shop soon.
I will be adding more personal bits and pieces (mostly crafty) that may be of interest as well as some general things that inspire me, my home, travels and local events related to my art.
Thanks for dropping by…
